Chris Hemsworth avoids baby bath time when he can.

The Hollywood star and his wife Elsa Pataky have three young children together: daughter India, two, and eight-month-old twin boys Sasha and Tristan.

While Chris is a hands-on father, he dreads certain daddy duties.

"Bath time," he laughed when People magazine asked his biggest dad emergency. "I've done it by myself a few times. My wife will read this and say, 'No, you haven't,' but there have been a couple of times! Or when you're trying to change all of them. That time is just manic - they're hungry, they're tired, they do want a bath, they don't want a bath. That's when all hell breaks loose."

His kids cause him problems outside the bathroom too, with daughter India already able to wrap her dad around her little finger.

"Oh, yeah. Both of us. We'll say, 'OK, that's it. No more ice cream.' And she's like, 'Gelato? Ice cream?' And she pretends to lick an ice cream, and I'm like, 'Oh, she's just too cute.' Then she goes crazy because of the sugar, so it backfires," he smiled.

Chris has been a star in his native Australia for over a decade after being cast as Kim Hyde in popular soap opera Home and Away. But it was his appointment as Marvel hero Thor in 2011 that really set his career soaring.

It took another two years for 31-year-old Chris to truly believe that he'd make it as an actor; something that was topped off last week, when he was named People's Sexiest Man Alive.

"Rush [Formula 1 driver James Hunt biopic]. That's when I first kind of felt taken seriously. It opened up so many more things. But that self-doubt of, 'Am I ever going to work again?' is still always there. And that's a good thing. It keeps you hungry," he explained.
