Chris Pratt’s hospital surprise

Chris Pratt dressed up as his character in Guardians of the Galaxy to pay a visit to a children’s hospital.

The 35-year-old actor, who plays Peter Quill aka Star-Lord in the Marvel movie, delighted patients at the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital by transforming into his alter-ego for the visit on Wednesday.

After making his introduction, Chris then treated patients to a screening of the new film, which also stars Zoe Saldana and Glenn Close.

The hospital posted a picture of Chris’ visit on their Twitter page, along with the caption: "Star Lord (@prattprattpratt) cheered up our patients by sharing #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy! Thanks for making them smile!"

According to E! News, Chris took time to speak to all the patients at the hospital, paying particular attention to young Dylan Prunty, who is a big fan of his.

The website reports that Chris also signed autographs and gave the patients the opportunity to try on his costume.

Chris recently spoke about how he landed his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, admitting he went all out to convince directors he was right for the part.

"I figured if I could just get them to believe me visibly as the character then it would be mine," Chris told Cover Media of his screen test. "I really thought that James [Gunn, director and writer] and I gelled in a really nice way… almost immediately I felt like my spirit was right for this character and the way I sounded was the way he sounded.

"I just didn’t look the part and I wasn’t walking round in the right vehicle yet, so I knew if I convinced them that they had to take a chance on me and give me a good enough time that I might be able to create the change that was required.”
