Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson had fairy tales in mind while naming their daughter.

The acting couple welcomed their little girl Briar Rose in October last year. And on Monday, the 34-year-old revealed the reason they chose her moniker.

“There’s a Disney reference there, I suppose,” he told Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family. “The original Sleeping Beauty is called Briar Rose.”

Hayden and Rachel first started dating in 2007 after meeting on the set of their film Jumper. The couple got engaged in 2008 and despite a brief split in mid-2010, they soon reunited and have remained loved up ever since. The pair have lots in common, and their mutual love of animation helped them decide on Briar’s name.

“We both love all things Disney — but Rachel especially was very keen on the name,” he explained. “We have Disney songs playing around the house 24/7 right now.”

Hayden was on the programme to promote his latest film 90 Minutes in Heaven alongside co-star Kate Bosworth. The blonde beauty added it was no surprise the former The O.C. had chosen a princess name for her little girl.

“Rachel is such a little Disney princess. I love her,” she smiled.

Rachel, 24, recently shared a photograph on Instagram of her beau Hayden enjoying a family day out in the park with their daughter. The Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones actor can be seen blowing bubbles with Briar’s little hand resting on her father’s knee with her facing away from the camera.

“Look at us there blowing bubbles,” Hayden said when he saw the picture.
