Christina Applegate on ditching Brad Pitt

Christina Applegate ditched Brad Pitt mid-date back in the 1980s.

The Sweetest Thing actress attended the 1989 MTV Movie Awards with the actor, when she was just 18. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live and its Plead the Fifth segment, the 43-year-old was encouraged to open up about ditching her date midway through the event.

“How many fifths do I get'” she asked before host Andy Cohen reminded her that she had already used her one and only fifth to avoid answering the question of which of her co-stars was the most well-endowed.

Andy continued to probe the star, asking if the man she chose over Brad was well-known.

“Do I have to say it'” she asked before joking. “I don’t have to do nothing.”

However she did concede that the man in question wasn’t an actor but was popular and known to the public.

Despite choosing the mystery man over the Fury actor, Christina revealed that they didn’t end up in a relationship. Andy asked if she ever went on another date with Brad, to which she gave a firm “No”.

Christina has no regrets over the situation though, as she is now happily married to second husband Martyn LeNoble. The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2010 and tied the knot on February 23, 2013.

Meanwhile Brad is loved up with second wife Angelina Jolie, who he married last year, and their six children.

Christina recently opened up about her feelings on being cancer-free, seven years after she underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. She says the experience and her subsequent recovery means she doesn’t take life for granted.

“I'm just grateful, super grateful," she told People Magazine. “It changed me for a while, and now I'm just living life, living my life."
