Amal Clooney always shows an interest in other people’s lives, according to Cindy Crawford.

The supermodel formed a close friendship with human rights lawyer Amal after she wed George Clooney last September (14).
Cindy, who is married to Rande Gerber, now enjoys double date nights with her husband, Amal and George, and says Mrs Clooney is always a delight to talk to.

"I think one of the things I love about Amal is that she's not only interesting – she's very interesting to talk to – but she's also interested in your world as well," Cindy told People at the Miami launch of her book Becoming Cindy on Tuesday night (06Oct15).

"She can talk to my kids about their thing, or she'll talk to me about my book or my business."

While Cindy has earned her reputation as a fashion icon thanks to her 30 year modeling career, Amal has managed to achieve a similar status in just a short few months thanks to her always stylish appearance.

But Cindy insists she and her friend usually have more important things to discuss than the world of fashion.

"Amal is an incredibly fashionable person so she doesn't need my advice,” Cindy said. “I guess we talk about fashion in a way, but it's not like we pore over magazines together. It's more like, she'll ask me, 'Who is your favorite photographer.' She's interested in my life, just like I'm interested in her life."

George surprised the world when he married Amal, ending his days as an A-list bachelor.

And it also surprised some that he chose not to go for a fellow celebrity, but rather a talented and respected lawyer.

"In the early days, people totally misunderstood the dynamic of the relationship. They saw it in the traditional terms of beautiful, younger woman falls for successful alpha male. Anyone who was there at the time will tell you it was George who did all the chasing. He had to do his homework just to get Amal out for dinner, and ever since then he's been running to keep up," a friend told British magazine Grazia.

"She's always been totally unfazed by celebrity and that's one of the great strengths of their marriage."
