Cobie Smulders has given birth to her second child.
The 32-year-old How I Met Your Mother actress and her comedian husband Taran Killam announced they were expecting back in October 2014. Now, during a chat at Sundance Film Festival, she dropped the news that they in fact welcomed their little one three weeks ago.
"I'm in Sundance and I have a three-week-old baby, so I can certainly relate," Cobie told Bustle.com as they chatted about her movie Unexpected, which explores motherhood. "It's my world at the moment, and it's just so prevalent in the world today.”
The television star went on to admit she feels very “lucky” about the position she’s in. She acknowledged that as a famous actress she has more access than many to help in managing parenthood and her career.
“I'm very lucky where I have a great career and a huge support system and not every woman has that. It's an interesting film because it shows both of those sides," she told the outlet.
The couple shared the pregnancy news via People back in October through Cobie’s spokesperson.
No further details were provided.
Taran, a favourite on Saturday Night Live, spoke about the announcement weeks later, revealing they weren’t finding out their baby’s gender.
"We're going to [make it a] surprise. Everything's healthy and coming along well," he explained during the Labyrinth Theater Company Celebrity Charades party. "I'm hoping my schedule lends itself to a newborn just in that I'm up all night. Hopefully that works out!"
Cobie and Taran got married in 2012, and already have five-year-old daughter Shaelyn Cado.
