Courteney Cox reportedly thinks adoption is the perfect way to expand her family.

The 50-year-old actress and Snow Patrol rocker Johnny McDaid got engaged last year and are thought to be walking down the aisle in the near future.

Courteney is already a mother to ten-year-old daughter Coco with ex-husband David Arquette, but the brunette beauty is said to be keen to have another little one with her new man. She and Johnny have already signed up to adoption agencies, according to reports.

"Courteney and Johnny see adoption as the perfect way to add to their family, while also doing something good for a child who needs a loving home," an insider told British magazine Closer.

The former Friends star underwent IVF treatment to conceive Coco and has often spoken about her desire to become a mum again.

In 2008 she spoke about the prospect of adopting if trying for a child "doesn't work" and it seems Johnny shares her dream.

"They still have a long way to go before they can officially adopt, but Courteney can't wait to be a mum again," the source added. "She's so excited that she's already started making plans for a nursery at their Malibu beach house."

Adding a new arrival to their life could be just what they need, as recent reports suggested the couple were feeling unsettled. While Courteney often spends time in Los Angeles, Johnny's family all reside in Ireland and it's thought the musician wants to tie the knot in his home country. This apparently stems from his relatives visiting the States for Christmas, making it unfair if they have to travel again for the wedding.
