Courteney Cox is reportedly relieved her fiancé "accepts" her close friendship with her ex-husband.

The 50-year-old was previously wed to David Arquette, who she separated from in 2010 and has daughter Coco, ten, with.

In late 2013 Courteney began dating Snow Patrol rocker Johnny McDaid and the couple got engaged last June.

With David now married to Christina McLarty, Courteney is apparently keen for the couples to spend more time together.

"Courteney and David have always been close and are still best friends. Courteney told pals Johnny found it a little hard to accept David as such a big part of her life at first. Even her best pal Jennifer Aniston jokes about what close exes they are," a source told British magazine Closer. "But she's so glad Johnny has accepted that David will always be in her life. It helps that Courteney encouraged Johnny to get to know David and Christina by arranging lots of couples evenings."

While there has been speculation about Courteney and Johnny's relationship, with reports claiming things have been intense with wedding plans, it's thought the musician is keen to take time over them. This means he's had to make sure his wife-to-be is relaxed at the idea of waiting a little longer before walking down the aisle.

"Things are still up in the air for the big day. Courteney felt a few months ago that Johnny was pulling away because he wasn't keen to make any firm plans for the wedding," the insider added. "She opened up to him about her fears and he assured her he still wants to marry her but doesn't see the rush. Courteney loves him and knows he's the one for her."

The brunette actress is said to be trying to relax and accept that the nuptials will take place when the time is right rather than trying to speed it up.
