Courteney Cox is hosting Thanksgiving dinner for 30 people.

The actress’ alter ego on hit show Friends, Monica Geller, was a chef fanatical about preparing the perfect feast. But Courteney jokes her approach to feeding her friends and family is a little more rough and ready.

“I have, like, 30 people coming for Thanksgiving. That’s a lot,” Courteney told People.com. And asked what she is planning to cook, Courteney replied: “It’s all canned. It tastes great.”

Courteney was speaking as she attended a celebration for the 100th episode of her hilarious TV series Cougar Town on Wednesday night, alongside co-stars including Busy Philipps.

And while Courteney is certainly not short of friends in her home of Los Angeles, she is always doing her utmost to maintain a sense of community among her pals.

“No one has family out here, so it’s trying to create some sort of community that I have people over,” Courteney said. “I say that people are always welcome to come on Sundays.”

And the thoughtful move is definitely appreciated in her group of friends, with Busy adding: “Courtney’s really good about keeping people together. She has Sunday nights at her house.”

Courteney also revealed she inherited her desire to entertain large groups of people from her grandmother.

“I grew up in Alabama, where my grandmother on Sundays — I have 21 first cousins — got the entire family together at 5:30,” Courteney added. “So I’m just used to having big groups gathering.”
