Courteney Cox was reportedly left "shocked" by her ex-husband admitting he won't attend her wedding.

The former Friends star is set to tie the knot with Snow Patrol rocker Johnny McDaid, and the couple have already been seen shopping for rings in the musician's hometown of Derry, Ireland.

Courteney's marriage to David Arquette ended in 2010, but they have remained close and on good terms for the sake of their ten-year-old daughter Coco. However, after her former spouse commented during an interview that he "doubts" he'll go to Courteney's upcoming nuptials, the brunette beauty is said to be feeling saddened.

"Courteney was shocked by David's comment. She's made it clear she wants him there and she's hurt he didn't tell her directly. They've both moved on with new people and she doesn't understand why he won't give his blessing to the marriage," a source told British magazine Closer.

"They haven't been in contact since he spoke out but she plans to talk to him next week at a family event, and she says she won't let David ruin her big day. She thinks there's a part of him that's still jealous. It's odd because Johnny and David get on so well. Johnny would have been happy for him to come."

David is engaged to entertainment reporter Christina McLarty, and the couple welcomed their son Charlie in April.

Courteney, 50, too is said to be keen to have another child, but after having Coco via IVF treatment aged 41 she is reportedly worried it won't happen again.

"Courteney's desperate to have a family with Johnny, but fears her age will be a factor," the source added. "They've talked through their options and could consider using a surrogate."
