David Walliams and wife ‘split’

David Walliams and Lara Stone have reportedly separated.

The 43-year-old TV talent judge is said to be “devastated” after his 31-year-old model wife allegedly asked for a trial separation.

British newspaper The Sun reports that Calvin Klein beauty Lara moved out of the pair’s London home on Tuesday night, taking their 21-month-old son Alfred and dog Bert with her.

“David has been putting on a brave face,” a source told the publication. “But people close to him are very worried because they know he’s devastated.”

The claims have also come as a shock to Little Britain star David’s nearest and dearest.

Sources allege his friends had no idea there was any trouble in the couple’s relationship.

“Everyone thought the marriage was strong,” the source added. “David is used to hiding his emotions with comedy because that’s what he’s always done.

“But on the inside it is a real wrench.”

One of the last events David and Lara were seen at together was the marriage of Sir Elton John and David Furnish on December 21.

On their friends’ happy day, Lara posted a picture with her husband on Instagram, writing alongside it: “Me and David today #ShareTheLove.”

However, despite the pair’s separation, David is said to still be hopeful that they can work through their issues and move forward with their marriage.

“David hopes it is a blip and that they can get the marriage back on track somehow, especially seeing as there is a child involved,” the source added. “He is still fiercely protective of Lara.”

David and Lara married in a star-studded ceremony at Claridge’s Hotel in London in May 2010.
