Dina Lohan pleads for ‘compassionate thoughts’

Dina Lohan asks for the public’s sympathy in the wake of her daughter Lindsay’s recent arrest.

The troubled 26-year-old actress was arrested and charged with third-degree battery Thursday morning for punching a woman in the face at a New York City club.

Lindsay was also formally charged in Los Angeles with reckless driving, obstructing or resisting a police officer in the performance of his duty and giving false information to a police officer. These three offences were related to a car accident that occurred in June, after which she lied to police saying that she was not driving during the crash.

Lindsay’s mother Dina is banding together with her family to support the star.

“At this time I kindly ask that you extend to my family the time we need to address my daughter's circumstances with the appropriate parties. As a mother you always love and pray for the best with all your children," Dina wrote in a statement to Radar Online.

"Our family's bond grows deeper and stronger during the tough times and I am beyond proud of all of my children for the love and devotion they provide for each other.

"We are there for and stand by one another unconditionally. Many thanks to all that have expressed concern for my daughter.

"Your compassionate thoughts and prayers are received with my deepest gratitude."

Lindsay is still on probation for a jewellery theft offence and it is very likely that this will be revoked resulting in jail time for the actress.
