Dolph Lundgren believes there's a "certain energy" in the US.

The 57-year-old actor became best known for showing his muscles off as Drago in Rocky IV. Since then he's slowly and steadily continued his movie career until 2010, when The Expendables thrust him once again into the limelight.

It was then that the Swedish star, who has daughters Ida and Greta with his wife Anette Qviberg, decided to move back to the US.

"I was in Europe focusing on my kids. I wasn't focusing on my business," he explained to British magazine Muscle & Fitness. "You have to be in America to do well in show business, especially with the type of movies I do, preferably in Hollywood. There's a certain energy in the States, and that's the reason I wanted to come here as a kid when I was only 14 or 15."

Things certainly seem to be going smoothly, with Dolph already confirmed for three projects next year, among them comedy drama Hail, Caesar!. The star is glad he made the move back to the US.

"The last five years, I've slowly worked my way back into the business and the popular culture here, and it feels good," he smiled. "Europe is a great place, but somehow in America if you put in the hard work, you know it's going to pay off, whereas in other places it's not so certain."
