Downey Jr. walks out of interview

Robert Downey Jr. stormed out of an interview.

The 50-year-old actor is currently promoting his new Marvel film Avengers: Age of Ultron, in which he portrays Tony Stark/Iron Man.

But his recent interview with UK’s Channel 4 News anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy took an ugly turn after a few minutes into the discussion.

On Twitter Wednesday the journalist shared a link to video footage of the incident, writing in the caption: “A steely moment from Ironman (sic)”.

The clip lasts just over seven minutes and it’s clear Robert becomes increasingly frustrated as the discussion proceeds.

The star visited rehab several times in the past to treat drug abuse issues and he was arrested on numerous occasions between 1996 through 2001 for narcotics charges related to cocaine, heroin and marijuana. Robert most recently sought treatment for addiction over a decade ago and in a New York Times article entitled Been Up, Been Down. Now' Super. published in 2008, the star insisted he’s been sober since July 2003.

And when Krishnan brought up a quote from this pivotal New York Times story, Robert shut the journalist down.
“I'm sorry, I, I really don't — what are we doing'” the actor asked.

When Krishnan referenced Robert’s “dark history”, the Academy Award-nominated thespian abruptly left the room, noting on his way out: “It's just getting a little Diane Sawyer in here.”

Diane, an esteemed American journalist, is noted for her extremely personal interviewing style.

This isn’t the first time Krishnan has upset a Hollywood celebrity.

Back in 2013 in wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut, Krishnan asked director Quentin Tarantino whether the violence in his film Django Unchained was connected to true-life catastrophic events in America.

"I refuse your question. I'm not your slave and you're not my master. You can't make me dance to your tune. I'm not a monkey,” Quentin said. "It's none of your damn business what I think about that! … And I'm shutting you down."
Avengers: Age of Ultron reaches US theatres on May 1.
