Lena Dunham wants to get in touch with William Shakespeare.

The creator and star of hit TV show Girls has expressed how much she'd like to get in contact with the British Bard, who died in 1616.

"Anyone have contact info for William Shakespeare? I want to get a blurb from him (sic)," Lena tweeted to her 1.43 million followers.

Aside from her TV duties, Lena has just finished writing her first published book Not That Kind of Girl.

It isn't set for release until October, which gives the star plenty of time to find someone suitable to write the blurb.

Lena is well known for her witty Twitter updates, and often allows her followers a sneak peek into what's happening in her life.

She earlier posted her annoyance at boyfriend Jack Antonoff, guitarist from rock band Fun, after he turned on the air conditioning.

"Who, you ask, turns the AC on during a polar vortex? Sociopaths, fascist dictators, my boyfriend (sic)," she posted.

She also used her social networking site to congratulate her Girls co-star Adam Driver on landing a part in the new Star Wars movie.

Rumours of Adam bagging the role, said to be in the vein of Darth Vader, started earlier this week, but are yet to be confirmed officially.

"We're VERY proud of Adam Driver re: Star Wars. He's about to rip a hole in da force. Is that a thing? I guess I should see those movies?

"I confirm nothing bc I know nothing bc I'm on a plane with my dad! I just like Adam more than almost anyone, and JJ Abrams a whole lot too," she quickly backtracked.

"Arm Rest Wars: a trilogy about my father and me on this plane that also stars Lamby and a bag of nuts. I'm dumb (sic)."
