Eddie Redmayne's wife keeps his feet on the ground by moaning about their broken dishwasher.
The British actor is riding a career high at the moment thanks to his role as physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. It's scored him a Golden Globe and SAG Award already and he's hotly tipped to take home the best actor Oscar in a few weeks too.
However, newlywed Eddie's wife Hannah Bagshawe ensures things don't go to his head.
"There was a moment yesterday where I was in rehearsal and my wife was calling me because our dishwasher broke down," he laughed to E! News.
"So, in the process of trying to focus on my craft, I was dealing with the blocked pipes."
The 33-year-old is thrilled with the critical acclaim he's received so far. The movie follows the relationship between Stephen, who has motor neurone disease, and his wife Jane - played by Felicity Jones.
Eddie didn't expect it to do as well as it has and sometimes has to pinch himself when he thinks of his journey so far.
"It's been the most exhilarating thing. It is in some ways the stuff dreams are made of," he said. "But you get back into the cold rehearsal room on the outskirts of London somewhere and it's back to the gritty of filmmaking. It's certainly a crash to reality, but a wonderful one."
He added that he's been shooting a new movie recently, marking his first return to the set since making The Theory of Everything. It's been great for the star, who has remembered how much he loves his craft.
