Emma Stone thinks women are becoming braver.
The actress is one of the biggest names in the industry thanks to her roles in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise and comedies such as Easy A. She's pleased women in her line of work are showing a united front and cited Ellen Page's coming out speech earlier this year as one of the biggest moments, calling it "fantastic".
"There are a lot of really brave women in the industry right now, who are daring to be themselves and not fit into this stupid 'actress' mould, and that's really inspiring," she smiled to British magazine Stylist. "So yeah, a lot of things can change and I think a lot of people are beginning to accept change, in lots of different mediums, which I'm really happy about. I hope I can harness that, in some way."
Ellen wasn't the only star Emma praised. The 25-year-old is friends with The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, 23, and she had nothing but words of encouragement for her.
"Well, I just think she's great, isn't she?" Emma smiled. "She is so inspiring to me, and I am so grateful that she exists in this world, as someone who is authentic and who has not bent to fit any idea of what a woman should be like in that kind of position. And she is so talented. I am just so happy that she is around for women everywhere. It's just fantastic."
Emma was the envy of many when she kissed Ryan Gosling in 2011 rom-com Crazy, Stupid, Love. Her character won the hot man by being her goofy self, which the redheaded actress thinks is the key to a lasting relationship.
"You would hope that being as authentic as you can be would win whoever was meant to be with you. Even if they happen to be Ryan Gosling," she smiled.
