Eva Longoria reveals deep, dark secret

Eva Longoria has joked she’s kept her “deep, dark secret” close to the chest for too long.

The 40-year-old actress, philanthropist and entrepreneur frequently graces red carpets all around the world at various high-profile events.

But even though she is one of the most famous women in the world, Eva would much rather stay at home.

“I love being home. My favourite thing to do is just have an entire day where I pull everything out and make a huge mess and I just sew all day,” she told America’s InStyle magazine. “The deep dark secret that no one knows about me is that I sew. I have an industrial sewing machine. I have surpassed the hobby level and I have a sewing room with a cutting table, and with a crossover stitching machine, a straight stitching machine, and then I have a slower stitching machine. So, I have many sewing machines and I have armoires full of material.”

Eva has utilised her passion for sewing to design a line of bedding for JCPenney, called the Eva Longoria Home collection.

When she is not making home goods, Eva is producing and starring in her forthcoming NBC telenovela comedy Hot and Bothered.

“In Hot & Bothered, I play Ana, the star of a telenovela who, ironically, doesn't speak Spanish,” Eva explained. “It's the cast, though, that shines. We have all of these amazing different characters that populate the world. They're a family, but they're a dysfunctional family.

“I handpicked each character I chose to cast and I brought in friends I wanted to work with. With their attitudes and their spirits and their souls, I wish you could have been on set for the pilot because it was like ‘Kumbaya’ to the 10th degree—it was like love, love, love.”
