Eva Mendes is reportedly finding motherhood "tough".
The 40-year-old actress gave birth to her and boyfriend Ryan Gosling's first child, daughter Esmeralda, last September after three years of dating.
She has since spoken about the trials and tribulations of being a parent, admitting she's "completely exhausted" while looking after her little one, and it seems Eva isn't keen to have another child any time soon.
"While she loves being a mum, she's admitted to pals she finds motherhood tough and doesn't see herself wanting another baby in the near future," an insider told British magazine Closer. "Ryan would love for them to move away from Hollywood and raise a big family, but it seems Eva's made it clear that's not in her plans right now.
"Ryan doesn't want to lose Eva and so he's willing to do whatever it takes. He wants them to work through their issues for the sake of their daughter."
There have been numerous rumours surrounding the state of their relationship, with claims they are on the brink of splitting up.
And it seems their outlook on marriage is the source of their problems, with Ryan keen to tie the knot whereas Eva isn't as fazed, previously describing matrimony as "very old-fashioned".
"Eva's always told Ryan she's not sure marriage is for her, but he thought she'd change her mind after they had their daughter," the source noted. "Ryan's very traditional and wants to get married and have more children. It seems like they see marriage very differently."
