Fashion Police will go on without Rivers

Joan Rivers’ TV talk show Fashion Police will broadcast without her.

The late comedienne anchored the programme that focuses on celebrity wardrobes up until her September 4 death.

And on Friday E! network announced Fashion Police has received blessing from Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers to continue filming.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Joan Rivers and, for the last two weeks, have turned our attention to honouring her memory on all of our platforms. We have also thought long and hard about what Joan would have wanted as it pertains to the future of Fashion Police,” the channel’s statement read, according to Entertainment Weekly. “We decided, with Melissa Rivers’ blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue. Fashion Police will return in 2015 commencing with Golden Globes coverage on Monday, January 12. No further details will be announced at this time.”

Joan previously starred in Fashion Police with co-hosts Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos.

The 81-year-old comedian passed away at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital after falling into cardiac arrest while undergoing surgery on her vocal cords at Manhattan’s Yorksville Endoscopcy clinic.

Joan is survived by her daughter Melissa and grandson Cooper.

Announcing her mother’s tragic passing, Melissa said in a statement: “My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.”
