Michael Fassbender hasn’t ruled out starring as Magneto for a fourth X-Men movie.

The 38-year-old actor has taken on the role of the metal-controlling mutant on three occasions now – in X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past and the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.

But Michael has yet to make a decision as to whether he will return to the alter ego in a future movie.

“I’m not sure,” Michael told MTV News when asked if he would star in another X-Men movie.

Michael’s comments come after his co-star Jennifer Lawrence said Apocalypse was her last outing as Mystique, while Nicholas Hoult said he was unsure if he would appear in anything further than what he was initially contracted for.

And Michael seemed to suggest in the interview that he, Jennifer and Nicholas come as a package deal.

“I presume [Lawrence and Hoult] are talking about contractually,” he said. “All of us signed on for a three-film deal, so we’ll just wait and see what happens after this.”

However, Michael is definitely interested in bringing Magneto out of retirement for another movie, adding: “Always interested in moving forward.”

Michael previously opened up about just how much he loves playing the character of Magneto.

The actor starred as Erik Lehnsherr in the X-Men: First Class, before he fully embraced his Magneto role in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

“There's so much history in the character and so much has happened before I arrived in his shoes so there's so much to play with,” Michael told Cover Media. “He's very complex, I love the relationship he has with Professor X.”
