(Cover) - EN Movies - Joseph Fiennes has joined the cast of Brett Ratner’s Hercules: The Thracian Wars.

The English thespian has signed on to the Rush Hour director’s forthcoming film adaptation based on the classic mythological character.

Details of Joseph’s role in the film have yet to be released.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will star as Hercules. His involvement was announced late last year.

Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Rebecca Ferguson, Aksel Hennie and John Hurt have also joined the cast.

Paramount will co-produce the project with MGM Studios.

Ryan Condal adapted the screenplay from Hercules: The Thracian Wars, a graphic novel by Radical Studio. Evan Spiliotopoulos revised Ryan’s script.

Supernatural references have been taken out of the equation with Hercules playing a mere mortal rather than the son of Zeus in the adaptation.

Brett will serve as producer on the film alongside colleagues Beau Flynn and Barry Levine.

Sarah Aubrey, Peter Berg and Jesse Berger are the executive producers.

Joe has releases lined up through 2014.

Production is underway for his next film, Simon Wells thriller The Diplomat, with Hayden Christensen.

The celebrated actor will also join Morena Baccarin in Ross Katz sci-fi thriller The Unholy next year.

Dwayne will next be seen in Empire State, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, The Fast and the Furious 6 and Pain & Gain. He is also tied to films Lore and Arabian Nights, currently in pre-production.

Hercules will begin filming in Budapest in May and is scheduled for a 2014 release.
