FLICKERAMA is a brand new outdoor British summer festival with a difference: it’s all about FILM. Flickerama – which takes place in the heart of the Cotswolds over three glorious days in August (14th-16th) - is the brainchild of Tom Lawes film director and owner of The Electric in Birmingham, Britain’s oldest working cinema and one of the country’s leading independent cinemas.

"Flickerama was one of those light bulb moments for me,” says Tom Lawes. “Having worked in the film industry for over twenty years, I have seen a real growing trend for outdoor event cinema. But at the moment these seem to be one-off events around a single film. Flickerama takes this to the next level, by creating a film festival that's an actual festival. The idea is it’s an event for film lovers where everything is in one place, in a beautiful environment.”

Flickerama is destined to set new standards for summer fun and entertainment for everyone; an entertaining mix of brand new films, interactive film events, live music, workshops, film memorabilia, and much more. Alongside the MAIN STAGE, with its huge, specially designed outdoor screen, there are indoor seated marquees with different film themes such as the SHOCK AND GORE horror tent and the glamorous BOUTIQUE SCREEN complete with full cocktail bar.

THE MASQUERADE BALL follows a screening of LABYRINTH, the 1986 fantasy classic starring David Bowie; audience members will be encouraged to dress up and dazzle with a prize going to the most glamorous costume.

DUDE NIGHT – a BIG LEBOWSKI party complete with bowling, White Russians (the sweet cocktail with vodka, coffee liqueur and cream) and a screening of Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1998 crime comedy THE BIG LEBOWSKI featuring a towering performance by Jeff Bridges as slacker Jeffrey ‘THE DUDE’ Lebowski.

The Original Blues Brothers Band will perform their classic set of dirty-down boogie before a screening of THE BLUES BROTHERS, John Landis’ seminal 1980 musical comedy starring the inimitable duo of Dan Aykroyd and the late John Belushi. Shades, pork pie hats and attitude are likely to be in evidence...

Cinematic Sinfonia will be back onstage playing John Williams’ unforgettable score to a night time screening of Stephen Spielberg’s 1975 thriller JAWS.

Neil Brand, the UK’s leading silent cinema pianist, composer and BBC broadcaster will be performing to classic silent movies throughout the festival.

There will be a host of family events for children of all ages in THE LITTLE FILM CLUB tent such as an epic FROZEN singalong, Super Hero Disco and learning how to make Dr Who sound effects with the original BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
Camping and glamping, pop-up street food stalls, cocktails, real ale bars and much more complete the festival experience.
