Fox slams Ninja Turtle haters

Megan Fox has told critics of her new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie to “f**k off”.

The 28-year-old actress portrays news anchor April O'Neil in the movie adaptation of the popular 1980s cartoon about a group of four crime fighting turtles: Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello and Leonardo.

Speaking at a press conference in Los Angeles on Friday, the star confessed in a sharp-tongued tirade she’s over hearing critics rant about their qualms with the re-boot.

"Let me tell you something about those people,” she told CinemaBlend before referencing her previous work with Michael Bay, a producer on the Jonathan Liebesman-directed feature.

“How much money did Transformers 4 make? Exactly. Those people can complain – they all go to the theater. They’re gonna love it – and if they don’t love it, they can fuck off, and that’s the end of that,” she continued.

The panel also included Megan’s co-star Will Arnett, as well as the film’s director and several of its writers and producers.

Megan’s rant follows several months after fans of the Ninja Turtles franchise blasted her casting news.

The co-creator of TMNT, Peter Laird, even spoke out last year after he was informed by a fan she would be playing April.

“My only exposure to Megan Fox as an actress is through her role in two Transformers movies and the wretched (but happily forgettable) Jennifer's Body. It may not be fair to judge her range of acting skills just from those three movies, but I think it is safe to say that there are probably hundreds of better choices for the role of April O'Neil,” he wrote on his blog, according to CinemaBlend, reasoning, “Of course, her name has promotional value, and maybe that's what they want. Who knows? I can't get myself too worked up about it.”

The film is slated for release in US cinemas August 8.
