Megan Fox says working on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Michael Bay is “lovely”.

The actress shocked movie buffs when she signed on to play TV reporter April O'Neil in the upcoming film based on the ‘80s cartoon after publicly chastising Michael, its executive producer.

But Megan has changed her tune, and insists she’s always appreciated Michael’s work, despite her criticism.

“He was one of the most lovely people that I dealt with in making this movie,” she told EW.com.

“I’ve always loved Michael. We’ve had our battles in the past but even when I’ve been really outspoken about difficulties we’ve had, I’ve always followed up by saying that I have a particular affinity to him. He can be very vulnerable, and he’s very likeable and loveable. I’ve always been very vocal about that as well. But, sometimes we clash because we both have very willful, powerful personalities,” she explained.

Megan appeared in the first two of Michael’s Transformers movies, but made some unfortunate remarks while promoting Revenge of the Fallen in 2009. She likened Michael to "Hitler" and said he was a "nightmare" to work for.

She was replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in 2011's Transformers: Dark of Moon cast.

Radar Online reported last year she had won the role in Ninja Turtles after "swallowing her pride" and apologising to the Hollywood heavyweight.

But Megan, now a mother-of-two, is looking forward to sharing their latest work with movie audiences.

She hopes both of her boys with Brian Austin Green will one day see the film and be proud of their mom.

“I had just had Noah when I started taking meetings to see if this would work out for me,” Megan remembered, adding, “How cool is it to have a mom that plays either a superhero or plays the part of this iconic franchise that spans so many generations' I mean, hopefully they’ll both think I’m cool.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, directed by Jonathan Liebesman, is scheduled for US release this August.
