Andrew Garfield is reportedly dropping all plans to be Emma Stone’s Oscar date.

The actress’ work in Birdman has earned her an Academy Award nomination this year in the Best Supporting Actress category.

Emma’s boyfriend Andrew has been noticeably absent as she graces the red carpet this awards season, but apparently he wouldn’t miss being by her side at the Academy Awards for anything.

“Andrew is looking forward to being Emma’s date for the Oscars and he is extremely proud of her and very excited for all her success,” a source told Hollywood Life.

“He is confident in their relationship that business is business and pleasure is pleasure and he likes to separate that, but when it comes to the Oscars, both will mix since that is a huge deal.”

Emma has been dating her 31-year-old Spider-Man co-star since 2011.

The pair choose to keep details of their romance under the radar, but she has recently spoken about love in general.

"You might fall in love with someone who you think is The One, but then it doesn't work out," she reasoned in an interview with German magazine Joy. "Then you meet someone else, and it turns out they are actually the right person for you."

Last year reports surfaced suggesting Emma was hoping to socialise out in public with Andrew more.

It’s claimed she was worried about how some of his idiosyncrasies might impact their future plans.

“Andrew is very focused on keeping Emma happy but for this to become a marriage and a family, she needs him to branch out and come out of his shell a bit,” a source told Radar Online previously.
