Gina Rodriguez feels blessed with her lot in life.

The 30-year-old actress has achieved worldwide fame through her role in hilarious comedy series Jane the Virgin.

And after being cast in new movie Deepwater Horizon with Mark Wahlberg, Gina has revealed just how lucky she feels right now.

“I’ve been wanting to work with Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg for a very long time so, I luckily have been blessed to be able to live my dreams,” Gina told Celebuzz.com of her upcoming role.

In the film, Gina will star as a woman on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig, which caused the worst oil spill in American history when it exploded in 2010.

She added that the role is a once in a lifetime part, and one she feels honoured to play.

“I luckily feel very blessed that, god willing, if all goes well, I’ll be shooting my dream role, or one of them at least, which is Deepwater Horizon,” she said. “I’m playing a very strong woman, a very intelligent woman on an oil rig. She is in American history, and she is a hero. And so for me I feel very excited to play in that.”

While Gina is upgrading from the small to the silver screen, she has a lot she wants to achieve in her career.

And next on her bucket list is to star in an action film in which she can perform her own stunts.

“I want to do action so bad,” she said. “Of course, now I need to create more dreams and those will include like, I want to play a superhero! I want to be in X-Men! You know what I’m saying? …That would be very exciting.”

“Something definitely action-packed, where I get to do my own stunts. And then they almost kill me because they don’t want me to do my own stunts, and I fight to do my own stunts… that’s what I want to do.”
