Giuliana Rancic has spoken out about rumours she is suffering from an eating disorder.

The E! News star caused a lot of speculation during this year's awards season after she appeared looking very slim on several red carpets. There were whispers that she wasn't eating properly which she found bad enough, but the star was stunned to hear some had suggested she might be battling cancer again. Giuliana was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 and opted for a double mastectomy.

"Some people were saying, 'The cancer is probably back,'" she told People magazine.

"And they were accusing me of every eating disorder. I thought to myself, 'God, if someone really thought I had an eating disorder, what a horrible way to approach it.'"

Giuliana is adamant she does not have a problem with food, although she admits she is very slim. She went to see a doctor after becoming concerned because although her appetite is healthy and she eats a great deal, she doesn't gain any weight.

The 40-year-old star revealed that cancer suppressing medication she's been on since 2012 has impacted her body, with her doctor explaining it can cause weight loss.

"It's really hurtful," she added of the comments. "I'm sorry that some people think I'm disgustingly skinny, as they put it, but there's nothing I can do. I'm lucky that I even have the type of cancer that reacts to the medicine."

Giuliana insists she east more than most people she knows, including desserts most evenings. Although she is thankful that there is medication she can take for cancer, she struggles with how it has affected her body.

"I look in the mirror and it's hard for me," she stated. "I am really thin. I want to look fit and beautiful and sexy, and I can't."
