Kelsey Grammer’s daughter Greer has been appointed Miss Golden Globe 2015.

The 22-year-old graduated from the University of Southern California earlier this year with a theatre degree.

And she is elated to have received the coveted title at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) Thursday night.

"I screamed and I jumped up and down," Greer gushed to People magazine. "I was just so happy when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association reached out to me this year. It was such a dream come true."

The fledgling actress gets to funnel her passion for drama by handing out awards to winners during next year’s Golden Globe Awards.

Greer says her parents are brimming with pride over the news.

"I called them separately and my mom [Barrie Buckner] was over the moon and I had to tell her not to tell anybody, because I know that she would have called everyone right off the bat, and same with my dad," she smiled.

Greer does confess she’s a bit nervous about being surrounded by so many A-listers at one time.

“I think I’m more nervous to actually see people I admire. Being on stage with [Golden Globe hosts] Tina Fey and Amy Poehler doesn’t seem like a real thing that is going to happen,” she gushed to InStyle magazine. “I’m excited right now, but I’m sure when the date gets closer I will be freaking out. When people come on stage to get their awards I’m going to be like ‘Hi, I love you!’”

Traditionally the title of Miss or Mister Golden Globe is given to children of Hollywood stars. Numerous celebrity offspring have taken on the position in previous years, including Sosie Bacon, Melanie Griffith and her daughter Dakota Johnson, Freddie Prinze Jr., Laura Dern and Rumer Willis.

The 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on January 11, 2015.
