Halle Berry wants to move to France so her daughter can grow up in a “quiet environment”.

The Hollywood actress has daughter Nahla, who is four later this month, with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. The pair are embroiled in a bitter custody dispute and it was recently reported that Gabriel plans to contest Halle’s plans to move to France with her fiancé Olivier Martinez.

Halle has explained why she wants to relocate.

“I think about moving to Paris. I want Nahla to grow up in quiet environment, where she's not followed by paparazzi or stalkers,” she told German magazine In. “As opposed to the US, there are stricter laws in France which prevent such encroachments into my private life.”

Although Halle hasn’t decided whether she will be moving yet, she and Nahla are already getting prepared. They have been learning French, with the tot showing up her mother with her language skills.

“Nahla teaches me French. Every time I misspell a word she corrects me,” she laughed.

That isn’t the only cheeky habit Nahla has demonstrated. She also enjoys indulging in sweet treats, and always wants to share them with her mom.

“I have diabetes and a daughter who forces me to eat sweets. But I only have a bad conscience when I eat ice cream with her,” she explained.

Halle and Olivier are understood to have got engaged over the Christmas holidays, with Olivier recently confirming their engagement. He popped the question with an emerald ring he helped design.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that one of the reasons Gabriel is unsure about Halle’s moving plans is because he fears being pushed out of his daughter’s life.

RadarOnline claims the model is fearful that Halle wants Olivier to adopt Nahla if they move to France.
