Harry Styles is reportedly planning to leave One Direction on a "high".

The boyband - which also includes Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson - was formed back in 2010, when they auditioned individually for The X Factor UK.

Rumours Harry is planning to leave have been rocking the boat for a while and the boys have had to put up with their share of scandals.

Most recently Zayn shocked fans when he exited the stage abruptly during a show in Perth, Australia. Niall told the audience his bandmate was "sick" but not long after he was snapped hanging out with pal Wiz Khalifa. It was apparently the last straw for 21-year-old Harry.

"He doesn't want to turn his back on his bandmates, but Zayn's behaviour in Perth was a big issue," an insider divulged to British magazine Heat.

"He wants to leave One Direction on a high, not when they are disappointing fans and drifting out of the spotlight. It's an open secret on the tour that he's planning life beyond the band."

It's public knowledge that Harry has been writing songs with other musicians such as Meghan Trainor and Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol.

This isn't the first time Zayn has been caught up in a scandal. His slim appearance drew concerns about his health, while a video last year appeared to show him and Louis smoking cannabis and talking about drugs.

Simon Cowell, who was a judge on the British X Factor when the band was formed and signed them to his record label Syco, recently acknowledged the rumours of Harry's leaving but said he believes the band should stay together.
