Henry Cavill says he “struggled hard” to get into his Superman costume on the set of Man of Steel.

The actor takes on the role of the legendary superhero in the film which also stars Amy Adams and Kevin Costner.

Clark Kent is known for wearing a super-tight outfit when he changes into his alter-ego Superman and Henry admits getting changed was a challenge.

“I loved wearing the suit! You put it on every morning and you feel fantastic. I mean, you’re wearing a Superman suit for goodness sake!” he laughed to Total Film.

“It took the team about 15 minutes each day [to get it on me]. They struggled hard... Let’s just say we became very close!”

The dark-haired hunk hit the gym hard in order to make a convincing Superman.

However, he admits there was one type of junk food he found it difficult to stay away from.

“Oh, pizza [is my kryptonite],” he smiled.

“There’s just something awesome about pizza that satisfies every desire you have foodwise!”

The British actor has previously appeared in films such as Stardust and Immortals.

He realises taking on the iconic role of Superman will change his career forever.

“Yeah. It will change stuff. I’m prepared for that,” he admitted.

“I have a responsibility to kids who believe I’m Superman – absolutely. It’s going to be bizarre to see yourself in toy version. I’m excited, don’t get me wrong. But I’m being realistic about it. Ultimately, I’m an actor. At the end of the day, I’m not actually Superman and I will play other roles.”
