Hugh Jackman believes acting is the same as being a child, as he’s always told what to do.

The Australian actor can currently be seen in the Peter Pan prequel, Pan. Hugh plays Blackbeard in the movie, but actually thinks that actors have more in common with “the boy who never grew up”.

“I mean, my job is kind of ridiculous,” he laughed to the New York Daily News’ Confidential. “I dress up; I pretend to be people for a living. I’m basically in a playground and people tell me what to wear, what to say. They pick me up, they drop me off, they feed me, it’s pretty much like being a little kid.”

The 46-year-old shaved off his dark hair to play the pirate. While it was a big visual adjustment for his fans, his children Oscar and Ava had a lot of fun with it.

“My kids treated me a bit like one of the Three Stooges,” he admitted. “They were slapping my head a lot.”

Hugh has had a lot of different hair styles for his various acting roles which include playing Wolverine in the X-Men franchise and Jean Valjean in Les Misérables. But the star didn’t mind shaving off every strand as it meant he spent less time in front of the bathroom mirror.

“You know what’s great about shaving your head? That’s like about 10 minutes of your life you get back every day,” he added. “Oh let’s be honest maybe five minutes. But anyway it’s one less thing to worry about.”

Hugh also has a pointy beard for the movie, which was also real - although he recently joked to Access Hollywood he's "not sure (he) should be so proud of that".

Pan also stars Cara Delevingne, Rooney Mara and Levi Miller as Peter Pan.
