Jennifer Lawrence finds it both fascinating and terrifying working with David O'Russell.

The actress, who turns 25 tomorrow, reunites with the filmmaker in upcoming movie Joy after previously being directed by him in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.

Over the years the pair have formed a close bond, with every feature proving a weird and wonderful experience for Jennifer.

“It’s fascinating and terrifying working for him because he’s a mad scientist genius. He’s inspired by anything. One time he wrote a scene by watching me get my hair done. He just went, ‘Oh! The sound of a shovel in the ground. Sinister!’ And then he ran out of the room," she laughed to Entertainment Weekly. “I always see the wide eyes of people who’ve never worked with him before. I tell them, ‘You have to let go of all your sh*t. You are the paint. He’s the paintbrush and the canvas.”

The duo dub their relationship as so special that David admits it feels like bad luck speaking about it.

It isn't just them reuniting for Joy; Bradley Cooper, who Jennifer starred alongside in the above two movies as well as last year's Serena, features too. The blonde beauty plays the title character, the inventor of the Miracle Mop and a mother of three, while Bradley's TV executive character helps promote it.

The movie was shot in Boston during the winter months last year, which proved a challenge for cast and crew.

“I still have Snowst Traumatic Stress,” Jennifer giggled. “I feel like I’m in Game of Thrones, running around going, ‘Winter is coming again!’ ”

“There was literally eight feet of snow outside,” David added. “It actually turned out great for us. The snow is very beautiful and Joy loves snow from a very young age.”
