James Corden thought Jonah Hill would be given his role in Into the Woods.

The British funnyman has landed his biggest role to date as The Baker in Disney's musical flick, starring alongside the likes of Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick and Chris Pine. James was thrilled to win the part but he initially doubted his chances during rehearsals.

"If I'm honest, I just thought, 'The workshop will be a great experience, but if the film gets made, they'll cast Jonah Hill," he quipped to Empire magazine. "You can't help but think, 'Oh God, OK, this is what you've been wanting your whole life.' You either step up, or go home."

Anna is no stranger to singing on film having shared her vocals in Pitch Perfect and The Last Five Years. And when joined by her famous co-stars on set the brunette beauty was overwhelmed by the atmosphere created.

"Seeing everybody in their civvies felt like we were just part of the same community. On set, it's a little bit more intimidating, but when you are all just hanging out in comfy clothes, you can allow yourself to believe you are in the same league as some of these people," she smiled.

Emily Blunt plays James' onscreen wife and the couple acquire a cow by swapping some magic beans. James didn't hesitate in complaining about the animal, called Tug, being "a f**king nightmare the whole shoot," and Emily can't help but agree.

"The cow was the biggest diva on set," she sighed. "She was obsessed with another cow, Diamond, who was Tug's lesbian lover. If Diamond wasn't in Tug's eye-line at all times... 'Moooooo.' It ruined takes, but a cow wants what a cow wants."
