James Franco launches crowdfunding campaign

Hollywood actor James Franco has launched a crowdfunding campaign via Indiegogo to source finance to make his debut novel Palo Alto into three feature films directed by up and coming young directors.

He is also pledging to donate the profits made from the sale of these films to Art of Elysium – a non-profit organisation that encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children battling serious medical conditions.

Crowdfunding means any member of the public can donate to a cause or business project in return for perks.
