Jason Bateman is disappointed he never got arrested in his younger years, despite his “best efforts”.
The Hollywood actor rose to prominence after starring in The Kingdom, Juno and Horrible Bosses. Jason keeps a low profile, and has joked that he should try his hand at being a typical diva in order to make headlines.
“You don’t get a lot of publicity for being a nice family man. I think I have to hire a publicist to let journalists know when I’m throwing furniture out of hotel room windows or cheating on my wife with a young starlet on a yacht off the coast of southern France,” he quipped in an interview with the UK edition of OK! magazine.
“I’m too quiet these days. I wasted all my wild-man behaviour in my twenties when I was partying like a rock star. I never got arrested – despite my best efforts.”
Jason starred in The Change-Up opposite Ryan Reynolds. The 42-year-old plays Dave Lockwood in the film – a family man who swaps bodies with Ryan’s character.
Jason loved pretending to be a playboy.
“It was an actor’s dream for me to be part of this wild comedy. I had a lot of fun playing the reckless womaniser – I used to be that guy in my twenties,” he explained.
“It was like a flashback and I enjoyed reliving my days as a totally irresponsible individual!”
Jason worked with Jennifer Aniston in Horrible Bosses. The actor loves sharing the screen with such a close pal.
“Jennifer has always been a great friend – I’ve been privileged to know her for a long time. We get along very well and understand each other like brother and sister. We share a similar vine and that’s always great to have with a close friend,” he explained.
“I love working with her. I’d like to be working with Jennifer on every movie, But Hollywood just won’t listen to my demands!”
