Jason Statham: I want to work with Affleck

Jason Statham says Ben Affleck is top of the “shopping list” of people he’d like to work with.

Both actors have had success in Hollywood recently, with Jason starring alongside Jennifer Lopez in action movie Parker, while Ben has garnered critical acclaim with Argo, which he stars in and also directed.

The multi-talented star has impressed Jason with his hard work.

“I look at Ben Affleck and I think he’s tremendous,” he gushed to Total Film.

“He’s so smart and his movies are great. There’s a shopping list of directors and actors I’d like to work with. There are fabulous people from Europe. I’ve been wanting to work with Nicolas Winding Refn [director of Drive] for a long, long time. I love his movies, especially the Pusher series. He’s so interesting. I met him once a long time ago and we had coffee. I bumped into him recently so I’m hoping that one day we’ll do something together.”

The 45-year-old is known for starring in action movies such as the Transporter franchise and performing his own stunts.
However, he could see himself making a move to behind the camera in the future.

“[Would I go into directing'] It depends. I think if a few things came my way and I found myself running out of time...

Who knows, if my knees give out or something, I might need to take a couple of years,” he mused.

“You can never look too far ahead. It’s an unpredictable future. The industry is exciting because of that. One minute you can be down and the next on top of the world. You can literally find an unknown and turn him into a superstar in a year or two. It’s incredible so there’s an excitement being in the business.”

Parker is out in cinemas now.
