(Cover) - EN Movies - Javier Bardem is in talks for Despicable Me 2.
The Spanish actor is rumoured to be providing the voice for a new character in the animation.
Javier is expected to play an evil role in the much-anticipated sequel to Despicable Me.
The first film followed a criminal mastermind, Gru, voiced by Steve Carrell. One of his schemes uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns, but he finds their love profoundly changes him for the better.
The 2010 film which also featured Jason Segel, Russell Brand and Kristen Wiig was a success with both with critics and audiences.
Academy Award-winner Javier is well-known for taking on a variety of roles. The actor has played a psychopath in No Country For Old Men, an artist in Vicky Christina Barcelona and a love interest for Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love. However this will be the Javier’s first foray into the world of animation.
So far there is little information on the actual plot of the new movie.
However, Empire reports that Gru will this time face a new villain called El Macho, to be played by Javier, and his child, Machito.
The Heat Vision blog has confirmed that many of the original cast will return to reprise their roles.
Despicable Me 2 is due for release in 2013.
