Jeff Bridges feels he has a lot to make up for with his kids.

The actor-and-producer has created a string of hit movies during his career, including Crazy Heart, which won him a best actor Oscar in 2010.

Jeff, 64, is married to Susan Geston and they have daughters Isabelle, Jessica and Hayley together. He knows he often put his career first, so is now making sure he spends quality time with his family.

“Unfortunately I missed a big part of their childhood because I was making films,” he admitted to German newspaper Bild.

“So now I make a huge effort to spend time with them. My daughter Jessy is a musician and supports me and my band The Abiders when we put on shows and we make music together. I’m also writing a children’s book with Isabelle at the moment. And my youngest, Hayley, is helping with our house. We have a lot of contact.”

Jeff stars in and produced drama The Giver, about a community that lives without war or pain. He’s wanted to make the movie, based on the novel by Lois Lowry, for a long time, so it was a big deal for him.

“Out of all of my films, this one would be right at the top, because it’s so current. And because I’ve worked on it so hard and for so long. Now my dream is finally coming true; it’s a special film,” he smiled.

“As producer, I didn’t want to disappoint fans of the book. I wanted to do something that would make them happy.”
