Jennifer Connelly struggled with the freezing weather while shooting new movie Aloft.

The upcoming film, which also stars Cillian Murphy, sees Jennifer portray a woman who becomes a healer.

It was shot in Winnipeg, Canada, and Jennifer admits that the chilly temperatures made the filming process a little more difficult.

“We filmed in Winnipeg, the north of Canada, in winter,” she told Page Six. “I was able to wear a vest because that was the climate in the movie. We were supposed to appear cold. Fortunately, I had hand warmers in my pockets and foot warmers in my boots.”

The movie tells the story of Jennifer’s character being reunited with the son she abandoned 20 years earlier.

In real life, she is a mother of three with husband Paul Bettany.

And the stunning star admitted in the interview she felt a lot of empathy with her on-screen alter ego because of the similarities in their strength.

“I have three children — from a three-and-a-half year old, who often comes with me, to our oldest, who’s ready for Yale. My husband’s an actor and director. You learn to take time out for your kids as well as your projects," she said.

The Academy Award-winner tied the knot with her A Beautiful Mind co-star Paul in 2003 and the couple have sons Stellan and daughter Agnes together, as well as Jennifer's son Kai from a previous relationship.

In 2014, Jennifer appeared in Shelter – which Paul directed. And she admitted that working with her spouse on the project wasn’t as strange as she had imagined it would be.

“Working with [Paul] as a director was weirdly normal. I didn’t approach it with trepidation; it was an amazing experience,” she told Net-A-Porter’s The Edit magazine.

“We have been together for 11 years, which is almost like 50 in Hollywood years. I have a lot of respect for [my husband]. I miss him when he goes away to work.”
