Jessica Chastain has recalled her most "special" moment from the 85th Academy Awards.

The flame-haired actress was nominated for the coveted best actress gong at the Oscars thanks to her role as CIA operative Maya in Zero Dark Thirty.

Despite losing out to Jennifer Lawrence on the night, Jessica really enjoyed herself with her grandmother at the ceremony, and has recalled a particular highlight of the star-studded evening.

"There was a special moment the other night...while watching Barbra Streisand sing Memories - I looked over at my grandma and she had tears in her eyes. It was wonderful to be there with her, watching her favourite singer perform her favourite song," the Hollywood star shared on her Facebook page.

In the post to fans on the social networking site, Jessica revealed that she's hardly had any time to do anything else because of the "intensity" surrounding the Oscars.

The 35-year-old star explained the February 24th event drained her emotionally and physically.

"Hey everyone, sorry it's been a while since I've checked in. The past week has been intense for numerous reasons, but I have finally stuck my head above water. I feel happy, rested, and so grateful," she wrote, before adding: "Thank you to you all, for your constant positivity and love. I would not be living this dream without you."

Jessica - who wowed at the Oscars in a glittering nude-coloured Armani Privé strapless dress - has previously explained that her grandmother Marilyn is her biggest supporter.

The star once joked that she is pro showing "skin, skin, skin".
