Jim Carrey feels like a “comedy hero” after being printed on a series of Canadian stamps.
The 52-year-old funnyman, who hails from Ontario, Canada, has sparked laughter around the world since launching into the entertainment industry in 1979.
Jim’s image has been memorialised in a stamp series printed for the Canadian postal service and the star couldn’t be more happy with the honour.
“I’m on a stamp along side all my Canadian comedy heroes! This is big. I feel like the guy who invented poutine! ;^D,” he wrote to his 12.9 million Twitter followers on Wednesday.
The stamp features stills of Jim pulled from his classic movies The Mask, Dumb & Dumber and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. The collector’s item was issued by Canada Post on August 29 and is currently available for purchase. Other Canadian comedians honoured in the series include Martin Short, Mike Myers and Catherine O’Hara.
The star will soon be promoting Dumb and Dumber To, a sequel to his 1994 hit.
According to IMDb, the feature sees Jim’s character Lloyd Christmas team up with silly friend Harry Dunne, played by Jeff Daniels, “20 years after the dimwits set out on their first adventure.”
Jim last appeared in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and Kick-Ass 2, both released in 2013.
Dumb and Dumber To, which also stars Kathleen Turner and Laurie Holden, will reach US cinemas November 14.
