John Travolta appreciates being celebrated for his accomplishments.

The 58-year-old Academy Award-nominated actor has had an illustrious career that spans four decades.

John is being recognised at this year’s Maryland Film Festival with the Best Supporting Actor trophy for his role in Savages and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

John welcomes the accolades.

“Anytime someone wants to acknowledge or celebrate me, I have no problem with that!” he laughed to Extra.

John treasures the memories he’s created through his work.

“There have so many golden experiences,” he explained.

John’s long-time friend Kirstie Alley recently revealed that the thespian was “the love of her life”.

Although John is married with children, he has deep affection for his confidante.

“Kirstie was a person that I loved, and she loved me!” he said.

John has experienced significant personal tragedy in recent years.

The Hollywood star’s 16-year-old son Jett passed away after suffering a seizure while on holiday in the Bahamas in 2009. John turned his back on movies for a while as he and his wife Kelly Preston tried to come to terms with their grief.
