Johnny Depp wants to “experience some degree of anonymity” in the near future.

The 50-year-old Hollywood icon has been active in the entertainment industry since 1984.

He first shot to stardom in 1987 after appearing in hit television series 21 Jump Street. Johnny has since been featured in a number of legendary films including Edward Scissorhands and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

The star’s face is recognised the world over and Johnny reveals he is planning to go underground for a few years within the next decade.

"I really do love making characters, and making movies, but yeah, sometime in the next ten years, you just want to wander a bit, and experience some degree of anonymity somewhere,” he told Extra.

Johnny and his longtime partner Vanessa Paradis called off their relationship in June 2012.

The screen star shares daughter Lily-Rose, 14, and son Jack, 11, with Vanessa.

He thinks their decision to split was beneficial for everyone in the family and claims there is no hostility present.

“There’s no reason for people to get sort of weird and hate each other. We spent a beautiful 14 years together, couple of great kids. It’s win, win,” Johnny explained.

“The strangest thing in terms of adjustment is just making sure that everybody’s okay. You make sure, first that your kids are okay, and that they understand, and that it’s normal.”

Johnny has dated Kate Moss and Winona Ryder in the past.

He is currently in a relationship with actress Amber Heard, according to recent reports.
