Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are to marry on a private island next week, it's claimed.

The 51-year-old actress and his 28-year-old fiancée have been an item since 2012, after meeting on the set of The Rum Diary. He popped the question the following year and has been rocking an engagement ring ever since, with claims the couple will exchange vows on the island called Little Hall’s Pond Cay he owns in the Bahamas on the weekend of February 7 and 8.

According to Page Six, the event will be an intimate affair with just 50 guests. Among them will be Johnny's two children Lily-Rose and Jack, whose mother is Vanessa Paradis.

"She’s filming a movie in London, and he’s getting ready to film the next Pirates of the Caribbean in Australia," an insider told the publication. “So this is the only time that everyone could get together.”

The ceremony will be held at Johnny's home on the island, with guests staying on yachts because there isn't much accommodation. Among the boats will likely be the 156-foot vessel he has moored on the island.

Apparently everything is already in place for the big day, with Amber opting for a dress by Stella McCartney, although at the moment it's not know what her fiancé will don.

The venue comes as little surprise, as Johnny has long spoken of how much he loves the island. He bought it around ten years ago and sees it as the perfect place to chill out.

"I don’t think I’d ever seen any place so pure and beautiful. You can feel your pulse rate drop about 20 beats. It’s instant freedom," he said in 2009.

Johnny has been married once before, but although he was with Vanessa for 14 years, they never tied the knot. He previously explained he just never felt the need because he didn't think it would have much effect on their relationship.

"I never found myself needing that piece of paper," he said in 2010. "Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don't need somebody to say, OK you're married.

"If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not. But the thing is, I'd be so scared of ruining her last name. She's got such a good last name."

The actor has been engaged several times, to Jennifer Grey, Sherilyn Fenn and Winona Ryder.
