Jon Hamm insists "questionable choices" don't mean someone shouldn't find happiness.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that the Mad Men star finished a 30-day stint in rehab for alcohol abuse last month. Just after the news broke he completed a series of engagements to promote the final series of the show, in which he portrays womanise Don Draper. He spoke of what he hopes for the character as the series comes to an end, and his words were extra poignant because of what he's been through.

"I think that making questionable choices in life doesn't necessarily negate you from the pursuit of happiness," he told E! News. "I hope Don finds peace. I hope he does, honestly, I think he deserves it. He's had a pretty rough go, for a pretty long time. And you know, the process of working on oneself is never easy but hopefully it's beneficial in the long-term for not only you, but the people you love."

Jon's long-term partner Jennifer Westfeldt is believed to have been instrumental in his decision to get help.

Although the 44-year-old has been through a lot of late, he still makes sure to have fun. He was sporting a bushy beard for his talk with E!'s Kristin Dos Santos, who jokingly quizzed him on whether there is a society of Hollywood men who all plan to grow their facial hair together. Jon feigned shock, explaining if there was he didn't know about it.

"There is a club of men in Hollywood who shave their legs. I'm in that club - oh, smooth as a Ken doll. No [I can't show you] it's just for me," he added.

"Relatively speaking, [the beard is] generally when I'm not working. I've come to sort of get into these patterns where I just get bored and I shave like twice a day on the show and once that's done I'm like, 'I'm not shaving anymore, it's so nice!'"
