Josh Duhamel finds it crazy he's a father.

The 42-year-old actor tied the knot with singer Fergie in 2009 and they welcomed son Axl in August 2013.

Axl is 18 months old now, but Josh still can't get his head around the fact he and his wife are parents to such an adorable tot.

"It’s still crazy to think that kid is mine and that we made him. It’s like, 'Holy c**p! We made him!'" Josh gushed to ET Canada.

Josh may still be coming to terms with being a dad, but that's not to say he and Fergie plan to stop there. They're keen to give their little boy a sibling when the timing is right.

"We've got to be very strategic in our planning for it," he added. "But the plan was to always have at least two."

Josh often speaks about his family life and how he and the Black Eyed Peas singer raise Axl.

Earlier this week the handsome star couldn't help but gush some more about fatherhood and how his dreams have come true now he has a youngster.

“It’s incredible. It’s something I’ve always wanted to [do] and finally after all these years, I got to do it,” he told The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show radio programme. “It’s everything everybody said it was going to be, without sounding too cliché."

When he isn't spending time at home, Josh is busy filming his new TV series Battle Creek, in which he and Dean Winters play two cops who are completely different but have to try and work together to solve crimes.

The long hours initially came as a shock to the star but he now feels at home on set.

“I mean, you’re there all day everyday and it’s a grind doing episodic TV, but it becomes a family,” he added to the radio show. “We really believe in what we’re doing."
