Judd Apatow: I’m never off Twitter!

Judd Apatow is obsessed with Twitter.

The American film producer and director has a busy career with movies including Begin Again, This is 40 and Pineapple Express. But when he isn’t behind the camera, he likes to spend his time on social media.

“@EricRoberts I don't think I am ever off Twitter!(sic)" he wrote on Tuesday when actor Eric Roberts said he should get on the site so he could tell him he was his favourite.

As well as joking around with his friends online, the 47-year-old likes to post about what he is working on. And earlier in the day he shared the cover of his new book with his 1.2 million followers.

Sick In The Head: Conversations About Life and Comedy” is released in June and is a collection of conversations that Judd had with the likes of Chris Rock, Steve Martin and Lena Dunham.

The cover features an emoji styled illustration that Judd thinks covers the range of his emotions.

“I love this cover because, sadly, it captures most of my personality. Fire and tear,” he laughed to Mashable. “Maybe that would have been a better title for the book!”

Once he posted the cover on Twitter, he got immediate feedback from his fans, with one particular observation standing out.

“@flavorpill_nyc: Was @JuddApatow's new book cover influenced by @Drake'” he was asked, with a link showing the rappers latest album cover, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.

“all my stuff is!(sic)” the father-of-two replied.

With some of the funniest comedy films under his belt, Judd would like his book to appeal to the next generation of comedians.

“My hope is that this book might inspire some kid who is sitting in his room looking at weird Funny Or Die videos, the way I used to sit in front of the TV and tape SNL with an audio recorder before the Betamax was invented,” he added to Mashable.
