Actress Julianna Margulies has learnt to react to criticism like a Teflon pan - letting negative comments slide off.
The 49-year-old star plays lawyer Alicia Florrick in hit TV series The Good Wife, which has been running since 2009. As the show has progressed so has Julianna, as both a person and performer.
"It's been seven years, so I hope I changed in seven years," she smiled to E! News. "I've gotten more confident in the way that she has, I realised a lot of things I took incredibly seriously aren't so serious. I'm not as jarred by critiques and criticism anymore. I've learned to be a Teflon pan like she has and just let things roll off and let them lie where they lie. I think I've learned, like she has, that silence is a little bit more powerful than speaking."
Alicia has faced countless troubles over the last six seasons, such as her politician husband Peter (Chris North) having affairs, her lover dying and starting up her own law firm.
The programme’s seventh season has just started airing in the US and Julianna is happy with where her alter ego is - back in the lawyer's seat after being forced to stand down as State's Attorney.
"Where she is right now, my favourite part is she doesn't care what anybody thinks, she's so... I think she's fed up and done, she's liberated and that's fun to play," the brunette beauty added.
"I love being in her shoes. I'm having a lot of fun. It's playing a lawyer, but it's also this whole political life and then there's some stuff going on in her home life."
Another enjoyable part of the job is working with her co-stars, Alan Cumming as quick witted Eli Gold and newcomer Margo Martindale as Ruth Eastman.
"I had to ask Alan and Margo not to look at me during my close-up because I was crying laughing so hard," Julianna said of one scene where Eli and Margo share a heated exchange of words. "It's a lot of fun."
